Do you Google at all? Can you take your hands off your ears long enough to hear Rick’s rebuttal? He spoke to your Gardasil propaganda last night in New Hampshire at the Lt.Gov. reception.

Rita,

Doctors live by an oath to help their patients using whatever medicine and technology is available. Given that fact, why did Rick Perry mandate, even if there was a little known opt-out clause, a medication for little girls that was for a disease that is essentially only acquired with sexual activity?

What are the conservative principles that support such an action?

Perry is nothing but another "Compassinoate" conservative, or much worse, another pandering politician looking for anything symbolic he can do that he thinks polishes his image.

SoCon, your question has been answered over and over: the vaccine was recommended by one of the most conservative panels at the FDA. It was already free of charge - paid for by the State and Feds - to everyone who did not have private insurance that covered vaccines. The idea was to make the opt out easier - State employees were claiming that parents had to go to Austin to get the actual form - and to make it covered by private insurance.

The Christian Medical Association put it best:

” The condom, safe-sex message is like telling your teen not to speed and then giving them a radar detector. HPV vaccination is like telling your teen not to speed, while reminding them to wear their seat belt. You want them to have protection from harm if they are in an accident – whether their fault or not. “
