If we really need millions of workers, for goodness sakes, give them paperwork and collect taxes. If they overstay or otherwise break laws, kick them out for GOOD. This is a winning issue for conservatives. Build a fence (on the US side and don’t let the environmental whackos stop it) and get this problem solved once and for all. I live in New Mexico where it’s a terrible problem. Since the Dems rule here we even give illegals licenses (though our new R Governor has tried to change this). This has created a cottage industry for people charging hundreds of dollars to help illegals all over the country get NM licenses. I use a national housekeeping service (Molly Maids) and I don’t think more than a handfull of these ladies (over the years) is a legal immigrant. We have to put this issue to rest with the republicans not looking like haters and without letting millions and millions more come in and overstay each year. Just sayin’

Trust me, most Americans share your worldview on illegal immigration, not the corporate/country club Republican open borders position or that of the left trying to change the country’s demographics and import impoverished third worlders receptive to socialism.

I do not know one Conservative who does not understand the US may not have enough manual labor available at any given time. Hence, a need for foreign workers.

With unemployment currently 15-23%, one wonders why there are 9-13 million illegals are working here. But that’s an issue for another day.

The illegal alien issue has nothing to do with foreigners working here. The issue is controlling who comes into your country. Among those you want to keep out are criminals (an illegal alien is by definition a criminal), those with communicable diseases and terrorists. Surely you can agree with that.

Those who want to work (not come here and go on welfare)here, but not immigrate (i.e. become a US citizen), must be accounted for and they must pay taxes.

Is that unreasonable to you? And please spare me the non argument that they’re already here. Therefore, we must accomodate them because it would be too costly to bus them home. Bogus, bogus and bogus. You make it so financially and criminally painful for Americans to hire illegals, the illegals will walk home themselves.

Every state that has adopted tough laws against illegal immigration has seen the flight of many illegals to more accomodting states—or to where ever they came from in S. America.
