And he gave her a chance to explain that, which she did. Tell me why you think a chance to clarify a statement is unfair?
“Actually, I believe Wallace was pre-empting the leftist media by asking Newt the same question he would be asked by a hostile leftist reporter...”
I think that the notion that Wallace did that out of magnanimity is a stretch of enormous proportions and furthermore - even if you were correct - that’s not his job nor is it expedient for a political “debate” to contrast candidates on their positions.
But I do like the word “gasbaggery”. Plaudits for that.
The media’s favorite political subject is -— the media. Wallace loves it that HE is now the story. It all fits with their self-professed neutrality. All the navel gazing gives me a headache.
Fox is going steadily downhill - look at that new White House correspondent. In two weeks I have seen him over and over throw in “yeah, but” comments to follow any mention of Obama’s falling poll numbers. Let him go back home to CNN and take Wallace with him.

Since this is at least the second time you've felt compelled to post the same article, I'll just cut and paste my prior response.
>>> Chris Wallace proves he's MSNBC Material
Funny, we loved him to pieces when he left Bill Clinton sputtering and red in the face. Maybe the problem is some people forget his job is to actually push. Well some of us still think pretty highly of Mr Wallace. The hypocrites are hopeless anyway.
