That is a mischaracterization. Ron Paul has not voted for a budget in over a decade, and he only earmarks to keep the money from ending up hands of the executive branch.
Maybe you do not understand the Budgeting/Earmarking process. That would be a good topic for a thread, since so many Freepers mischaracterize it.
Remember this. The level of spending is set by the party leadership before a single amendment is allowed. Then it is targeted: some to defense; some to infrastructure; some is earmarked to individual districts; etc.. Whatever is leftover goes go the executive branch to spend as it pleases. By earmarking as much as he can, Ron Paul is able to keep at least some of the money out of the hands of Obama and his thugs. Paul’s earmarking is, under Obama, an act of patriotism.
Paul seeks to reduce the budget to constitutionally authorized spending only. Until that happens he is stuck with the massive spending of the status quo, of late the GOP leadership.
