GOP Debate: Newt Gingrich "Gotcha" Dodge

During last night's GOP debate, good old Newt Gingrich got a little pissy with Chris Wallace's "Gotcha" questions. Well, newsflash Mr. Speaker, every candidate up on that stage were victims of "Gotcha" questions. You're nothing special.

What was the "Gotcha" question? Newt, why did your entire campaign staff abandon you? After indulging in a rather lengthy "Gotcha" question dodge, he accused Wallace of playing "Mickey Mouse games."

And Wallace's response: “If you think questions about your record are Mickey Mouse, I’m sorry, I think those are questions a lot of people want to hear answers to, and you’re responsible for your record.”

Indeed, just as the Fox News team asked Romney why his businesses have laid off hundreds of workers, why Herman Cain hates Muslims, why Huntsman supports gay marriage, why Ron Paul supports Miranda rights for terrorists, and on and on.

I liked Wallace's witty little transition to Huntsman: “At the risk of raising Speaker Gingrich’s ire, I’m going to ask about your record, sir.”

Can I get a Gotcha?

Most of the old media questioners seemed to work on the premise that the debate was their platform to tear down any accomplished conservatives.

The people asking questions should all have been from the Republican party.

Newt is morally bankrupt; not just with his personal life, but he is also in the back pocket of the ethanol lobby which has paid him a great deal of money to promote an increase of both ethanol mandates and sontinued subsidies.

We all hate that question, yet, it is there whether one acknowledges it or not. I held my nose and voted for McCain as you probably did.

Actually, I voted enthusiastically... for Sarah Palin.
