Ah, Jo Stafford, AKA “GI Jo”, known by that name by the soldiers of WW2, was indisputably one of the GREAT popular vocalists throughout the 40s and 50s.
“Always womanly , but never coquettish”, as the jazz critic
Gary Giddins PERFECTLY put it.
