The EO he signed to force sixth grade girls to take Gardasil tells me that he simply cannot be trusted with power.

Forced? It wasn't even mandatory. Maybe because my shot record from the Army is the size of a small phone book, but I'm not really sure what the whole hub-bub was about this particular issue. Vaccines have been making the world a better place for a century.

Other than that, wishing or voting for Obama over Perry is about as rational as pouring acid on your face to clear up your acne. If that's good reasoning to you, you're probably as clear thinking as any other Obama supporter.

Forced? It wasn't even mandatory.

You're saying it was optional? Everything I've read regarding Perry's EO says either 'mandatory' or 'required' for girls prior to entering 6th grade to receive the three-shot vaccination series.

Friday, February 02, 2007 • Press Release

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today issued an executive order directing the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to adopt rules requiring all girls age 11 and 12 to receive the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine prior to entering sixth grade, effective September 2008. The executive order also directs...

In response to his refusal to rescind that EO, the Texas House passed HB 1098 on March 14, 2007, overturning his executive order by a vote of 119-21 and the Senate agreed with a vote of 30-1.

However, in support of your claim that it wasn't 'mandatory' or "required' the press release stated "Parents may choose to opt out of mandatory vaccinations for reasons of conscience, including religious beliefs."

Please correct me if I am mistaken. I have done some research into Perry's background and track record, but I do make mistakes occasionally and do my best to own up to and correct them.

...wishing or voting for Obama over Perry is about as rational as pouring acid on your face to clear up your acne.

Just to be clear, I would never vote for obama. Never have. Never will. I never have thought, uttered or written a single word in support of obama. Or Reid. Or Pelousy and their progressive agenda to destroy and remake our Republic.

So, you claim Gardasil wasn't mandatory, but everything I've read says it was.

You then soften it by saying that vaccines make the world a better place and I agree...unless your side effects are worse than the disease the vaccine or drug was to prevent. Saw a lot of that when I was in grade school with kids born with Thalidomide related birth defects. I'm not as trusting as you are.

Then, you leap to a conclusion based on facts not in evidence by anything I've ever said or posted regarding supporting obama over Perry.

Insulting me won't make me vote for your candidate.

I humbly suggest that your thinking and reasoning would benefit from greater clarity and that is the basis for my reply.

I stand by my opinion that Perry is not to be trusted with real power.

You are so right on the tired old Gardisal issue. Many vaccines re mandatory if you want to go to Texas public schools. This one was never mandatory and this vaccine is still recommended by doctors.
