Sarah Palin: Quite appalling to be called a terrorist by Vice President

Posted by on Aug 1, 2011

Sarah Palin said that though Tea Party members are used to being labeled as racists and inciters of violence, she found it especially appalling that the second in command of the most powerful office in the world would say that Tea Party members are acting like terrorists.

Regarding the debt limit deal, she went on to say that while it is a victory to change the debate toward talking about the debt, there is much more work to be done. She does acknowledge that the debt limit deal is a step in the right direction but she doesn’t like giving what she believes may be the most liberal President in US history another 2 trillion dollars that we don’t have with no major reforms:

[Here's the interview of Palin on Greta a short time ago.]

Palin on Debt bill

I didn’t attack her in this thread. I said I liked what she said. Maybe while I’m looking for examples of where people said things about Palin in a McCain-endorsement thread, you could find a thread where I attacked Sarah Palin.

I have disagreed with freepers who I believe mis-state what Palin has said, and they sometimes claim that if I don’t agree with their interpretation that I am attackin Palin, as if they are the perfect representatives of Palin. But that’s not the same.

OK, I’ve got to go dig up some old posts.

I saw the interview. Greta called it a victory. To infer from Sarah’s response that she considers it the same kind of victory that Greta did is just wrong and she clarified it..but none if you seem willing to admit that.

“Victory” was Greta’s choice of words.

There was no victory of any kind for the tea party or for America in this “deal.” It’s a total farce and business as usual for the ruling class. McConnell is an idiot. Wants to share power with the dems. And Boehner is an idiot for pushing this as a spending cut. There is NO spending cut in this deal. Not one damned cent. The borrowing kicks in immediately and any promised cuts are pushed years into the future where they’ll never materialize. The so-called super congress is totally unconstitutional. It in fact neuters our fledgling tea party caucus by needlessly and recklessly ceding undue power over the budget and borrowing to the senate, dems, RINOS and the Marxist OBAMA! And the unconstitutional triggers are absolutely disastrous!!

It’s taxation without representation!!

Time to party like it’s 1773!!

C’mon people, we’ve been through this before. It’s standard operating procedure for the ruling class. They have no intention of EVER cutting this unconstitutional government!! And that’s why the tea party was born and that’s why we must redouble our efforts!!

The weak-kneed sissies in our midst should quit apologizing for these big spending, big government idiots! It simply encourages more of the same!!

BOOT THEM OUT IN 2012!!

She may not consider it the same kind of victory as Greta but, even while stating its negatives, she did call refer to it as a victory several times as you can see in post #22.

Your words show wisdom. With Zer0 throwing tantrums in the White House, wanting only to escape to the golf course, and Bite-me blabbering like a junk yard dog, we will have a nation with a stomach full of this rotten crew. I have faith we will spew them out like a bad lunch.

"I don’t think Sarah would tell us we should take a victory"

partial victory. THAT is where the rubber meets the road here.

Anybody ever realize that since 1960, this nation has had only ONE VP worth a damn?

Dick Cheney.

My point was to indicate that Palin obviously doesn't think the whole deal was bad. She certainly doesn't like certain parts but she pointed out some positive things.

What positive things did Palin point out?

>> Palin used the word “victory” in connection with the debt bill.

Not exactly. Sarah used the phrase “this victory” defined by Greta to be TEA’s successful shifting of the political aircraft carrier.

I don’t think Sarah would tell us we should take a victory, if she thought it was a defeat.

Greta was the one who said that the Tea Party was victorious because they changed the discussion in Washington. Palin agreed with only that (lame) point being a victory.

Palin went on to criticize the bill. She criticized the increase in the debt ceiling, she said that there were no spending cuts and she said that there was no entitlement reform.

Again, what specific aspect of the bill did she like??

Greta clearly referred to ‘victory’ here. Frankly, I was listening in the car on satellite and when I heard Sarah Palin remind us about the broken GOP pledge of posting a bill online for 3 days before a vote, I took it as a smackdown of Boehner. It really reduced the republicans to the same level as Pelosi and Reid. If this bill is so good, why not post it for us all to read and accept. This bill is crap - total capitulation to a corrupt president by a corrupt congress!

This was a manufactured crisis, and the only way for this horrific government to turn this around is for the conservatives to slay the diseased old elephant first. Then you raise a new, strong, healthy elephant built on real conservative values as driven by the Tea Party. Then and only then can you trample the donkey and save the union. Until then, the old elephant lays with the old donkey, producing pork, waste, endless debt and collapse of our country.

That’s not an accurate assessment of her comments on Greta’s show. Sarah affirmed Greta’s point that TEA is basically responsible for changing the nature of the debate. That’s the “victory” she acknowledged. Otherwise, Palin condemned VOTUS’ depraved remarks, and gave a raised eyebrow to any perceived silver linings in the bill. The bottom line — Palin was not on board with this bill.

Your ACTUAL words:
To: Jim Robinson
One note...I just sent a check to you last week,

(Gee, Jim. I just sent YOU a check....)

What you SAY you meant:
To: MestaMachine

“No, it actually just shows that I give money to support a conservative site...kind of indicates that I might not be a RINO.”

I could go farther using your ACTUAL words.
“kind of indicates that I might not be a RINO.”
(It doesn’t definitely mean I’m not a RINO.)
So it kinda means you MIGHT be?

Words. Gotta love them. You can make them mean almost anything depending on what you WANT them to mean.
Are you really gonna keep digging this hole?

This budget bill is %100 pure crap . We got taken to the cleaners again . The GOP is TOTALLY useless and no better than the Democrats in my book. Giving Washington a single dollar more to spend is obscene.
Not one word about Obama Care , no a word about stopping BILLIONS in fraud , waste , redundant programs and workers. It stinks to high heaven .
Personally I favor civil unrest at this point and why there are not riots in the streets is beyond me. Obama and co. are dismantling this country live and in living color and nobody seems to give a crap about it . Not enough to do what’s necessary.

It's a step in the right direction and yet still I'm not celebrating as a pure 100% victory the actions that have been taken."

She's not speaking of the Tea Party here but the bill.

A step in the right direction...but not a 100% victory.
