That would be the Great Elementary School Cover-up. First revealed to the world way back in January of 2007.

FWIW, the 1967 document in question lists a birthplace of Hawaii.

Yes, it lists BHO’s citizenship as ‘Indonesian’. But that doesn't necessarily make it so. Perhaps the parents just lied wrote that down to avoid any fuss. Perhaps they planned to stay there and become Indonesians. Hard to say.

Regardless, the decisions of the parents do not affect the US citizenship of a six year old born in the United States. There are supposedly some circumstances where a minor can renounce citizenship, but there is no reason to believe this ever took place. Thinking it might have taken place doesn't count for anything.

“If Lolo did not adopt him, my understanding is that he would have been risking alot. Under Indonesian law only citizens were allowed to attend these schools. To lie would have been a big risk for Lolo and Sad.
Then there is SAD’s passport that showed lil Barry as Soborkah (sp?) which was explained by someone familiar with Indo customs as meaning “son of Soetoro.” Charlene

Thank you for posting that copy of the record. I no longer had it.
I disagree , this was made public as you said in 2007, no reason at that time for funny business. Why would Lolo risk being busted for lying? It was a law you must be a citizen of Indonesia to attend the schools that he did. Why wouldn't Lolo adopt him? I think it is a very reasonable expectation that he did. Take a child away from the US back then and not adopt? Pretty risky, I think for many reasons that Lolo would not adopt him. His sister Maya is Lolo’s. I think bo would have complained about his sister having a different name. Back then adoption was far more common, if not almost expected.
