People remember him from high school, and we see yearbook pictures from that time.
But nobody remembers him from Occidental College or Columbia.
Years later, there is evidence he was at Harvard, as he worked on the Law Review publication.
The MSM had far more important things to investigate in 2008, like the status of Joe the plumber Wurzelbacher’s trade license.

I doubt he did any actual "work." The evidence that he did so seems to be missing.
There are people who do remember him from Occidental but no purported classmates remember him from Columbia.
Most likely he never attended Columbia at all. There has never been a transcript produced to indicate the contrary. Until such a transcript is produced, his attendance at Columbia is an unlikely possibility.
There are multiple people who remember him from both places because they transferred from Occidental to Columbia at the same time. - link
