Not running Internet Exploder?
Not sure about Windows ME compatibility, but the best AV I’ve found is AVG free. Can’t beat the price. I’ve used it for years on several different machines and never had a problem, and it’s not nearly as resource-intensive as the other big name garbage out there. Speaking of resource intensive, dump internet explorer for mozilla firefox or google chrome to keep that dinosaur limping along...
I saved up for about six months and bought an HP Pavillion laptop with the 17” screen. I love it!!!!
Now if only I could find my toolbar? LOL
My favorite operating systems are the ones that operate by osmosis outside of the box. Less work.
I am. Its probably here I just don’t see it. My F11 key increases the volume.
Try this site its free but read some install toolbars.
www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/security/fwvirus.html
It should say (in a row) right below the box at the top where the www. freerepublic url displays:
file edit view tools help
If that’s dis-appeared, I dunno. I thought I had found all the ways to hose my ‘puter up!
Thanks everybody for being so patient and kind in your software guidance. I can only learn as I go :)
Now, there is an icon in the very top right of my screen, it looks like a little sun with short rays coming out of it. When I click on it I get: Print, File, Zoom and Safety. There is no “tools”.
Im probably just going to have to call HP again. Sigh.
This is what I got from Yahoo:
If that doesn’t solve the problem, you might have accidentally moved one of your other toolbars over the main toolbar. Try the following:
1.Directly to the left of the Y!, you should see a thin vertical bar.
2.Click this bar with the left mouse button and drag the toolbar straight down.
3.Your main IE toolbar should now be visible.
Once your toolbars are how you want them, you can right-click the IE toolbar and select “Lock the Toolbars” to keep them from moving accidentally in the future.
I don’t have a thin vertical bar next to my “Y!” And plus, my F11 key only adjusts my volume.
Maybe try uninstalling the yahoo toolbar? reinstall it later, if unistalling helps.
Should I be hitting Ctrl F11?
I DID IT!!!!!
I right clicked the vertical bar next to the search icon and it asked for “menu bar” .
Wooooo Hoooooo. Yahoo’s directions really bite.
THANKS EVERYBODY... YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!
