Today, House Republican leaders will discuss with lawmakers a new framework designed to prevent a national default while ensuring any debt limit increase granted to President Obama includes spending reforms and cuts that exceed the debt limit hike. This common-sense plan is aimed at stopping President Obama’s indefensible quest for a debt limit increase that would run past the next election without a process in place to ensure spending is being cut as the debt ceiling is being raised. As Speaker Boehner said yesterday on FOX News Sunday: “I know the president’s worried about his next election. But my God, shouldn’t we be worried about the country?”
President Obama desperately wants a large debt limit increase that will take him past the next presidential election.

I could not agree more! ‘Rigid’, almost more than any other single word, describes Obama. He latched onto his self-image [’world’s smartest, most amazing person’] and worldview [Marxist/Black Liberation/pro-Islam, etc.] very early, and hasn’t adjusted one hundredth of one scintilla since. He CAN’T adjust: any challenge to his self-image destroys the entire man, since his very existence depends on maintaining the fantasy of his brilliance and exceptionalism.
He can’t adjust his political/economic/social/religious views for the exact same reason. The world’s smartest man is not mistaken in embracing Marxism; he is not wrong about Keynes or Islam or anything else. If he’s wrong, he’s not the smartest man on earth, and he falls apart.
‘Rigid’ says it all. If Boehner pokes him hard enough, as you said, he will shatter. Let us hope, for the sake of the US, it happens.

It is looking like a thing of beauty - perhaps our guys have actually heard us and will show a little spine. Recent pictures of Obummer indicate that he's feeling the stress of hearing the word "no". Poor child may actually get a few lessons in adulthood...
I used to think zero was just a pathological narcissist. After looking at his history (the little we know of), I changed that to sociopath. The two overlap quite a bit by having several symptoms in common, but his votes on providing medical assistance to a child who survives late-term abortion tips it to sociopath. This was one of the few things he would take a position on, and he did so more than once.

You said it! You can definitely see in recent Obama-photos that he’s coming unglued. He’s never had to handle stress, opposition, criticism, major public losses/humiliation, etc. He’s fifty [or so he says] and he’s having his butt handed to him on a platter For the First Time Ever. If it keeps up, the guy is toast. Please, please, let it be so. Nov 12 seems a long time off, but Obama’s mental unraveling could be right around the corner. Just goose him a few more times, Boehner, and he’ll start swinging from the WH chandeliers.

Agreed! He is a full-on sociopath. His bloodless discussion of babies being abandoned to die, cold and whimpering, in the laundry/waste room is one example, and his dead, dead eyes are another. He is incapable of feeling empathy. He, as a Malignant Narcissist, is his sole reference point; he cannot take into consideration anyone else. Do the dying babies help or hurt *him*? He thought they helped; he thought abortion rights purity would be an asset to a radical leftist Dem. For all I know, he was right.
On the national stage, if we had an objective MSM, that one vote alone would have sunk him. In the PC world of ‘don’t be a racist and criticize The Won’, he got by. He’s on his way down and out, though, and it will be a huge relief to have a whole human being, as opposed to the sociopathic shell of one, in the Oval Office again.
