A Porterhouse may be too masculine for Hussein. Coburn might have more success should he offer a food that’s a little more feminine.

He is comfortable making such a bet because he knows there is little chance of the Bill making it out of the senate.

Weve got to fix our country, and this is the only viable plan right now that will do that. And I will bet you a Porterhouse steak that if it lands on his desk, hell sign this puppy. He forgot one inconvenient fact:
Obama doesn't care about fixing the country...he cares about his agenda, and his agenda alone.
Any other idea, regardless of it's merits...if it isn't "his" idea, isn't, in his own words..."serious."
I'll take mine medium rare please....

Every day that goes by with no Obama or Senate plan on the table, is a day that CC&B becomes more inevitable.
Swing state Dem Senators up for reelection in 2012 are probably polling in their state right now about how their yes or no vote on CC&B will impact their reelection prospects.

Has Coburn gone dotty in his old age?
I thought he was on board with the Gang of Six McConnell plan and opposed to anything from the House...
?????

A lot of people have trashed the GOP leadership in the House of late, but the ONLY PLAN ON THE TABLE THAT’S CLEARED ANY BRANCH of government is CC&B.
I think the House adjourning for the weekend is masterful negotiating, and the only thing I’d tell the press if asked is, “We’ve done our job. We’ve got the only plan on the table, and it’s the only plan before the Senate that’s passed the House. I’m late for dinner with my family.”
“But what about the debt ceiling?”
“You don’t cure an alcoholic by giving him a fifth of gin and the keys to the car. I’ve really got to go now.”

A bit off topic, but Coburn is under fire by veterans orgs. for his Amendment 564 to HR 2055 (Military Construction/Veterans Affairs appropriations). This Amendment will force veterans to provide causal relationship to their illnesses from herbicide exposure, rather than one of the 15 "presumptive illnesses."
Will be taking considerable flak in coming days...

Despite President Barack Obamas vow to veto the Cut, Cap and Balance bill passed by the House of Representatives, Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) said he would bet a Porterhouse steak that the president would sign the legislation if it arrived at his desk.
Isn't it wonderful that a decision that could, quite literally, decide the fate of the entire country is reduced down to a ~$20 bet between country clubbers? Forget all of that "lives, fortunes and sacred honor" stuff. In fact, let's just forget the steak and say that whoever screws the country up the worst has to shave his eyebrows.

Coburn figures if he keeps running in circles and kicks up enough dust, we won't be able to tell exactly where he stands :^)

I’ll bet a porterhouse steak that the Greenbay Packers will beat Central Arkansas Junior College IF they were to play each other.
