Carter’s Country was the model to be used by Obama and the MSM.
Carter’s Country is a chain of sporting goods stores around the country that sells firearms.
Do a search for “Washington Post and Carter’s Country” and you will find that the media (WaPo) was doing the BATFE’s bidding by lambasting Carter’s Country as the source for weapons flowing into Mexico. This continued through a series of “investigative” articles that were nothing more than BATFE lies printed verbatim by the WaPo.
Of course, the WaPo story was picked up by papers all across the nation.
Carter’s Country was dragged through the mud as the primary source of firearms in Mexico until their attorney proved the stores were actually cooperating with BATFE on every case and were only allowing sales to proceed when the BATFE told them to do so.
The WaPo printed a 1 paragraph statement that was buried.
This shows how the BATFE could work with gun stores behind the scenes to sell firearms to straw buyers while blaming them in public for the “iron river” of guns flowing into Mexico and that an unquestioning MSM would run with the story nationwide.
Oh don’t worry. The lefty msm will try to smear Perry with this. Even though it was a Obama Administration op to make a case for gun control. Interestingly, they picked a large chain to set up.
Would not put it past the BATFE to intimate that lack of cooperation could have negative effects on their business.
Carter's Country only has 4 locations, all in the Houston area. I have one close enough to my house to hear their range fire from my back yard.
