I see Dems going heavy for Romney in open primary states as a reverse “Op Chaos”.

If Romney is the R nominee, a Tea Party challenger is almost guaranteed.

What I don’t know is how big an influence open primary states can be on the nominating process.

I'm not sure they didn't nominate Romney in Michigan last time. You recall there were a couple of states that didn't have democrat primaries.

Sometimes that backfires. They did the same with Rick Snyder and actually voted for him in the general election. Snyder is a social liberal but has been harder on the unions than the state legislature has been for a long time. They don't like him much these days..
