Truly the best advise posted. I wasn't a Marine, but I got to know them up close a personal on a hot summer day at NAS Pensacola Fl when I showed up for Aviation Officer Candidate School.

I'm sure Paris Island is nice this time of the year.

No way....Marines go to strange places and get shot at wayyyyyyy to often....
Sign up and go into the US Coast Guard and get into the legal side of Coast Guard Ops.....learn to operate a 40 boat or a cutter or fly a plane......
If you don't go to sea you'll be around beaches,water and fresh air.....Maybe a taste of Alaska if you like to hunt and fish thats the place to be....
