Someone on YouTube shot a video of Detroit, Michigan. Provo, Utah is the most conservative city in America. Detroit is the most "progressive" major city.

Obama carried Wayne County, Michigan with 74.2 percent of the vote. This is what Detroit looks like:

I live south of Detroit in nearby northern Ohio. Between the leftovers from days gone by and the Muz limbs, it’s a scary place to visit (and I only go there for Tiger baseball games).
They should make the soundtrack an operatic “Obamaland”
I was watching Beverly Hills Cop and the opening has a montage of Detroit circa 1984 and even back then it was a h***hole.
Utah city? What state is that in?
I did not look at the U-tubes, but I assume they were the videos of the abandoned and decaying homes, and once fine neighborhoods.
Next week I’m going there for a client meeting... well, in Troy actually. Should be interesting.
In “Back To The Future” there were two alternate universes. One, where McFly stood up for himself against the bullies led to the prosperous, well-ordered future, the other, where McFly cowered and let the bullies roll over him, led to a trashed, crime-ridden future. That is more or less how I recall it and lately it feels like we slipped out of the “good” timeline and into a nearly unrecognizable and “bad” one.

Troy is a very nice city.
If at all possible, stay out of the sh*t hole that is Detroit. “We gonna get us some ‘Obama Money!’”
What a Shame...it used to be a beautiful city.
If you are looking for adventure, though, go "urban exploring," or at least try to find Detroit's urban farms.
Oh, c’mon. There are nice places to stay in Detroit, also. Just don’t go out walking the streets at 2AM.
What amazes me is that the buildings don’t stand empy, they are full of desks, books, chairs, beds, equipment etc. It is almost as if the people had to leave because of a pandemic or apporaching army.
Well, my step-daughter lives in downtown Detroit (she moved there last year from Boston for a new job)... she told me to be sure and bring my camera.
Troy, MI is always on top 10 lists of the Safest Cities in America...you will have no problem, and might actually like it. Hang out in Birmingham, Royal Oak, Troy, Rochester...lots of nice suburbs in the Detroit area.

I'm quite surprised to see Allentown, PA made the list. I'm aware that Pat Toomey represented the district which includes Allentown, but he has never exactly cruised to an easy electoral victory.
I checked into staying at the MGM Grand downtown... but their rates were outrageous... couldn't believe what they're charging.

Yeah, I know, but most of Detroit proper (and Highland Park) are Shite holes.
This is what 40+ years of Democrat policies do to Black Communities. New Orleans...ditto.
My Dad grew up in Detroit. Seeing it today would’ve broken his heart.
Here is the kind of thing that some “progressive” cities are inclined to do. All she wanted to do was grow a neat little vegetable garden.
I can’t believe Franklin, TN isn’t on that list. But we are a small town (65,000). But our county, Williamson, is the most conservatve voting population in the state. Up there with most of Oklahoma.
