Something about this story is off-kilter. The story claims he was arrested only because of the clerical error. The link advises the state-dept claims there is more to the story than what is reported here.
Hopefully, there will be more info available soon after the court hearing mentioned at the link.
And to be clear — if the state-dept arrested & jailed (for 2 months so far) a soldier and citizen merely for checking the wrong box on a form, then I think all hell should break loose on the State dept.
There had better be more to this story to justify what has happened so far.
