If it runs off of an A/C synchronous motor and/or otherwise uses the powerline frequency as a time base, yes, it will. Most digital clocks I know of use a quartz crystal to keep time so there should be no effect. Still, welcome to the Third World. BTW, I'm an amateur radio operator too.

It’s not going to hurt your alarm clock. That’s the problem with a story like this: So few people are going to truly understand it when they read it. Unless you are using an ancient digital (looking) alarm clock that flips the numbers into place with a motor, you’re in good shape.
