WASHINGTON — A yearlong experiment with America’s electric grid could mess up traffic lights, security systems and some computers — and make plug-in clocks and appliances like programmable coffeemakers run up to 20 minutes fast. No doubt that the frequency variance proposed could affect some electric clocks (14 seconds a day for the one in Groundhog Day).

I am somewhat shocked to see Freepers using MSNBC as a source. Do you miss Keith Olbermann?
