When I read his bio at the agency website he doesn't look like a standard political appointee. He was an Assistant U.S. Attorney (that's a staff hire) during the Reagan years, an interim U.S. attorney (political appointee) under Bush 41 and Clinton, and in an executive position for the U.S. Attorney's Office under Bush.

Typically a political appointee knows he is supposed to fall on his sword when he gets the call. Even if he doesn't, he is going to have a huge ethical issue since moving contraband across a border is a real no no. He cut Dept. of State out of the loop. I know State can't keep a secret, but it still isn't done.

Didn’t I read a NBC news-reporter broke this story as some of the rank and file in the ATF thought the whole gun sales scheme was BS and risked their jobs coming forwarded with information. If the informers hadn’t said anything to this newswomen then government would have prosecuted the very gun store owners that the ATF approached and setup to sell guns to Mexicans along with deaths caused by the same guns.

And as we all know, guns and ammo are illegal in Mexico, the signs say so at the border entrances.

The latest I heard the DoS is also implicated. Think about it; Hitlery was one of the biggest voices out there to trumpet the bogus 90% story. Now nobody will touch it.

I think Issa has somebody from DoS on his whistleblower list as well and he is just setting up the ducks in a nice little row before he starts shooting. People are running for the hills right now and this one is going to take in some very big fish.

I am a business colleague of Ken. While I do not know his political leanings, he is a very ethical, and honorable man. Knowing Ken as I do this should get interesting. It should be noted that he was president of the American Academy of Forensic Scientists. He was elected by his peers for his service. He was instrumental in writing and reviewing the ethical documents which control the forensic science community. This should get very interesting indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
