Herman Cain bashes Mitt Romney for playing ‘political games’ with Daily Caller/ATR/YouTube debate

Former Godfather’s Pizza CEO Herman Cain ripped former one-term Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney after finding out Romney’s recently-released schedule didn’t have The Daily Caller/Americans for Tax Reform (ATR)/YouTube debate on it.

Cain says he wants the American people to hear from all the Republican presidential candidates, not just some.

“Governor Romney, saying you’re a businessman simply isn’t enough,” Cain said in a statement. “I hope you will participate in this debate to showcase what experiences and vision we each have, and which of us would be able to best help stabilize and grow our economy.”

Cain also said he thinks Romney’s playing “political games” by not participating. “Now is not the time for political games,” Cain said. “It’s time to get serious about our anemic economy and the millions of Americans out of work because of it. People deserve to hear from all of us.”

Cain added that he plans to share what he’s going to do to fix America’s economy at the debate in Las Vegas on July 10, something Romney won’t get to do because he won’t be there.

“I have spent nearly all of my professional career in the private sector, rescuing failing companies, balancing budgets and creating jobs,” Cain said. “I look forward to sharing these experiences and the common sense solutions I have always employed during the ATRF and Daily Caller debate in Las Vegas.”

The Daily Caller, ATR and YouTube are hosting the debate, which will feature questions from audience members. The Daily Caller’s Editor-in-Chief Tucker Carlson said it’s an opportunity for engaged primary voters to interact directly with candidates. (Cain gives campaign staff business titles)

“For Republican candidates seeking to appeal to conservatives, this debate offers an opportunity to hear from engaged primary voters,” Carlson said in a statement. “Social media allows voters to engage candidates directly. Conventional debates keep viewers at bay as observers. This debate will make them participants.”

ATR president Grover Norquist said this is a rare chance for candidates to debate without biased left-wing media filtering it. “This debate will focus on economics and the ongoing destruction of American jobs by the current Administration,” Norquist said. “Real Republicans will ask real questions without the filter of establishment media bias.”

The debate is scheduled for July 10 in Las Vegas. YouTube will be carrying a live streaming video of it, as will The Daily Caller.

Romney is skipping the debate because it is being hosted by conservative media & will take YouTube questions.

This would have been the only debate where Romney would have been questioned on his lies.

Exactly! The RINOs are so far removed from “the people” it’s not even funny.

Romney’s not participating because this is a debate for Republicans. I’m sure he’d be more comfortable at a gathering for Democrats, which is basically what he is.
