Rejecting traditional religion in favor of this Old/New Age pablum, the lost generation of 60s and 70s hippies have proven the axiom: “When you stand for nothing, you fall for everything.”
I saw some clips (youtube?) on this mystical fraud. In one interview he says the “self” is a complete illusion or somesuch claptrap. In another interview he says everything but the “self” is a complete illusion.
Another clip featured him as part of a panel talking at what looked to be some university. The line of b.s. that night was that everything you believe to be true is a lie. In the Q & A period some guy said, “You said everything you believe in is a lie, do you believe that?” Deepak answered “Yes” and the guy gave a quick “Thank you” and walked away.
How did this huckster get rich and famous? How does he stay famous?
