I have been around here for a long time. I have read what people have written about young women having children out of wedlock. Almost universally the comments are less than flattering. In many cases the terms slut and white trash are used.
I am confident that if Bristol Palin were Bristol Smith—a nobody from a small town in Alaska, similar comments would be made. The celebrity of her mother cures all of the ills of the child.
It’s too bad that many folks around here cannot see past their adoration to appreciate the hypocrisy.

Bristol is a 20 year old activist for conservative causes, and pro-life, she is mother to the second most hated, non aborted child in America.
Bristol is also a speaker for the “National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy” and is a “Teen Abstinence Ambassador for the Candie’s Foundation, a teen pregnancy prevention organization.
This is the kind of young lady that conservatives respect and admire as leaders, not attack.
