We’ve had strong presidents and weak presidents, skillful presidents and incompetent presidents, mediocre presidents and just plain poor presidents. Barack Obama stands alone as the first president who simply declines to lead.

On almost every major issue since he took office in January 2009, Obama has dumped responsibility on someone else, merely paid lip service, or let the issue quietly fade away. Just this year, the issues that have gotten the no-leadership treatment from Obama include: the deficit, the debt, Medicare, Social Security, Medi-caid, energy, corporate taxes, medical liability, immigration, and Libya.

Incompetence is the only thing Obama has and maybe a sixth sense because he shows signs of the other five.

I'm reminded of JFK's words after the Bay of Pigs -- "victory has a thousand fathers, but defeat is an orphan".

He was your boy fred... you praised him to the point of worship on election night 2008. Both you and krauthammer swore that he would be a GREAT CENTRIST LEADER. fred... you are either a fool... a liar... or BOTH!

Cut the guy some slack! With all the vacations, golfing, WH parties, fundraisers etc. who has time for leading?

I don’t get the ‘liar’ thing. Barnes was optimistic for some stupid reason on election night. Since then, he seems to me to have been more critical of Obama than not.

That makes him honest, if anything. I wish more journalists who expressed pleasure and ‘hope’ (barf) about Obama would write articles like this. This should be welcomed.

I guess I have logged too many hours watching and reading fred... maybe he believes the tripe that he spews at times... I did say he was either or both... but a detestable beltway elite he is... that is enough to disqualify him as a truthful writer. Just because he believes something when he says or writes it... does not make it true.

Yeah, I don’t remember his demeanor in 2008, but he actually summarizes the Obama Presiedency well here.
