Your efforts are awesome. Thank you so much for all you’ve done. I can’t get away from Sarah; meaning I am drawn again and again to her as a candidate for 2012, even as I get a little encouraged by the fact that we actually might have a decent pool from which to choose. But she continues to stand out.
My own story of the week - our church is doing VBS this week, I have been a half-hearted crew leader (although I homeschool my own kids, I’m not a “kid person”), and then yesterday during craft time, I was sitting at a table with a beautiful red-haired 10 year old girl who said, during the course of a conversation that just happened to get around to father’s day, just matter-of-fact, no complaint whatsoever -
“My dad won’t be here for father’s day.”
(Me) “Oh really, why not?”
“He’s training in Texas for Afghanistan.”
“Oh wow, will you see him before he goes over?”
“No.”
“How long will he be gone?”
“A year.”
“Really? Is this his first tour?”
“No, his THIRD.”
I had to really strain to compose myself. Thanked her for her sacrifice, and made sure she would go home and thank her mom for me. Just overwhelmed by what these families do for the rest of us.
I busted a tear when reading your post.
The families of our Warriors are sacrificing so much too. Yet, the lying libs think nothing of it. Hell, many of the Warrior families are being screwed by the govt. they swore to protect.
Sickening I say. Repulsive behavior.
I have One in Afghan and One in ‘the not a war’ Libya.
As you pointed out, many folks forget that the family of the Warriors suffer too.
OK, rant is over. Please don't be offended.
redshawk.
Out of the mouths of babes ,are we so humbled.
