The Puritans got a few things right: exclude from “decent society” for a time certain those whose choices reflect badly on that society.

Methinks shunning ought to be the policy for ANY Republican candidate or operative who takes a cheap shot at a Republican candidate.

the ancient greeks would vote into exile for ten years any politician who had become too powerful. This was to ensure they held no political office or influence.

Perhaps we need something similar. Term limits or a policy that after a politician leaves office for ANY reason, there would be a COMPLETE ban from any government work, working as a lobbyist or for a lobbyist firm, or any crony capitalist type activity. no dog catcher, no party chair, committee chair etc.
