A few weeks ago, I was surprised when my dad told me that my dog, Trooper, was in the local newspaper. I said, "Trooper? Why in the world is he in the paper?" But when I saw the picture, I was delighted to see that it was a photograph from an Eagle Scout ceremony for Ben Whittington, a scout who has been helping me with Trooper's training for many years. Ben posed with Trooper for a few photos after the ceremony.

Great story. Thanks for posting. Need more people and stories like this these days. There are a lot of good people out there doing good things but never getting any credit.

Probably not going to have to worry about that for this young man. I used to be a photographer for the USAF, and shot grip-and-grin photos for many a retirement ceremony. Several were for Colonels, and one Brigadier General, who said that becoming an Eagle Scout was what set them on their way to high rank and responsibility in the USAF.

OS <-—not an Eagle Scout, or even a Boy Scout.
