Tipping Point #5: Fukushima The mainstream news has gotten a bit tired of covering it, but the situation at Fukushima is still a complete and total disaster. Japans Nuclear Emergency Response Headquarters admitted on Monday that three reactors experienced full meltdowns in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami in March. Did it really take them nearly three months to figure this out, or were they lying to the rest of the world all of this time? The truth is that the nuclear disaster at Fukushima is far worse than the mainstream media has been telling us.
But I would take this one with a grain of salt as many 'experts' right here on FR assure us that Fukushima is no more dangerous than the radiation coming from your home smoke detector. /sarc

The major problem with Fukushima is the loss of gereneration capacity that has affected Japan. As an aside some manufacturers in this country that use Kubota engines can’t get them.. Fukushima was a disaster for Japan’s just in time manufacturing.
The utility took a multi-billion dollar hit. Thirty years ago the cleanup at TMI started. They ended up processing 20 million gallons of contaminated water. Fukushima will see much more than that. The Japanese have a much bigger problem with at least three reactors that were stressed beyond design limits. They’ll never operate again.
Sure the radiation is a problem. That can be cleaned up. The ongoing economic damage cannot.
