That means he not only initially lied about the existence of his affairs to the public, he now lies publicly about what his wife new, at a time when he's supposed to be 'fessing up. He'd actually be putting her on public notice, that she'll now have to lie to corroborate his statements when asked. I just have a hard time understanding anything so depraved.
