This is the story of a bona fide American, an American who lived the American dream; the son of a chauffeur and a domestic worker, Herman Cain is running for the office of the presidency. He calls himself the dark horse:
One who achieves unexpected support and success as a political candidate, typically during a party's convention. (Free Online Dictionary)
and yes, he is coming out of nowhere, at least in terms of public awareness, and is now near the top of the list of Republican contenders. On the race track, he would be considered a long shot that is gaining on the leader on the backside with momentum, class, and stamina on his side. He is in an excellent position at this stage of the race. He knows by experience, that those who dash to the lead early in the race can rarely maintain the pace in a long race, they often spit the bit and stick their toes in the ground at the head of the stretch; those with conditioning and stamina will fight for position coming into the stretch and the horse with class and heart will hold the lead in that stretch run to the wire, that is what makes a winner.
Herman Cain is a proven winner with heart and class. He has been a top executive of Pillsbury, Burger King, Coca Cola, and Godfather's Pizza. He brought Godfather's back from the precipice of bankruptcy. His first nine months at Burger King were spent flipping burgers, so that he could learn the fast food business from the bottom up and he managed to turn his regional district he was working in, from the worst performing to the highest performing in the country.
The man knows business and he knows what it takes to meet a payroll and turn a profit. He has a love of country, ability, humility, and experience: the main personality components that Obama is missing.
Have I mentioned that he is a Black Man: a Black Man that is comfortable and secure in his own identity as a Black Man. A man that can handle criticism without pouting about racism. Cain is not an ideologue with Marxist roots who views America as just another country with multiple faults that he needs to apologize for: no, not at all, he is a proud American, who believes in American exceptionalism. He is diametrically different from the adolescent narcissist currently occupying the White House; could you imagine Obama flipping burgers or turning a major corporation back from bankruptcy. Unlike Obama, Herman Cain is a man of the people, the American people, not some quasi-Socialist leader of the people of the world. Americans want a leader that can rebuild America, who has the actual tools and ability instead of running on empty with nothing but a Marxist philosophy. He is a man who knows the importance of calling on men of substance and accomplishment for an administration, instead of Marxist radicals who have accomplished nothing and seem more interested in destroying America instead of building a vibrant America.
Cain is the one Republican candidate that can speak with authority and explain to American Blacks and describe how Democrats have kept them on the virtual plantation since the days of LBJ with entitlement programs and how they need to recognize and believe in their own individual abilities instead of the notion of a collective entitlement philosophy. Cain said, We can take this from an entitlement society to an empowerment society. He has also maintained, Hope and Change is not a job, a realization that is settling in on Obama voters facing the economic realities of four more years of poverty and despair.
Herman Cain is willing to reassure Americans, I am not going to allow America to become number 2 economically or militarily. Americans are anxious to feel the greatness of the past rather than sacrificing in order for other countries to share in Americas wealth. We are not responsible for the corruption and ineptness of every failed Socialist government in the world.
Believing in America does not mean penalizing a state for trying to remain solvent to avoid being over run by illegal aliens: Cain said, The last thing I will do is sue a state, he suggested instead, we send Arizona a peace prize.
To a business man, loaning Brazil $2 billion dollars and pleading that we hope to be your best customer, while preventing American oil companies from drilling off shore is ludicrous. He has promised that he would never loan a foreign country money while promising to be their best customer.
In support of Israel, he criticized Obamas punch below the belt of calling for Israel to accept the pre-67 borders, a suicidal move for Israel, as a condition for getting the terrorists to the negotiating table; a move that is in effect capitulating to the Muslim Terrorists, a group that doesnt exist in Obama World. He professed, I know you dont throw your friends under the bus, You dont need years in the statehouse to know that. He stated the Cain Doctrine: If you mess with Israel, youre messing with the United States.
Cain has the ability to fire up a crowd without the women fainting on camera cue and he does it without a teleprompter. His speeches are flawless and flowing in context and emotion; instead of the disjointed, wandering, and meaningless babble of Obama when he is caught without his teleprompter.
Yes, Herman Cain is a Dark Horse or a long shot, but he is a winner who believes in America instead of Marxist philosophy. Obama came into the White house with no experience other than being a Community Agitator and he continued on with the same job skills and Marxist philosophy that he has studied his whole life and the country is showing the effects of this failed philosophy. America may not be able to withstand four more years of a clueless ideologue; it is time for a man with faith in America and its Constitution, who has the skills to move America forward. It is time for a man like Herman Cain.
Cain is Able!
About Herman Cain: My Story
I was raised in Atlanta, Georgia by loving and hardworking parents. We grew up poor, but we grew up happy. Things werent always easy, but my mom and dad knew that if they kept their faith in God, faith in themselves and their faith in the greatest country in the world, they, too, could achieve their American Dream.
That dream, we discovered, was for my parents to own their own home and watch their two sons graduate from college. Those dreams required that my father work three jobs to support our family.
The first dream was realized in a brick home on Albert Street. I can still recall the excitement of the day, as he surprised useven my motherwhen he drove us to our new home.
Their second dream was realized when I proudly accepted my degree in mathematics from Morehouse College in 1967 and my brother graduated from Morris Brown College. Both of my fathers American Dreams were achieved. Now, I set off to achieve mine.
One year after graduating, I married the love of my life, Gloria. And together, we started our journey to achieve our Dreams. This meant relocating to Indiana where I would begin my Masters degree program at Purdue University, while working full-time as a mathematician at the Department of the Navy.
After earning my Masters degree and six years working for the Department of the Navy, we returned home to Atlanta, where I began to climb the corporate ladder with the Coca-Cola Company. I faced challenges, but I always remembered the values my parents taught me. With enough faith and determination, I knew I could go as high in corporate America as I desired.
I enjoyed a successful career at the Coca-Cola Company and later moved to the Pillsbury Company. Within a short period, I rose to the position of Vice President. When I got there, I thought I had already achieved my American Dream on the 31st floor of the new Pillsbury Corporate Headquarters with a corner office. But I quickly realized I wanted something more.
I resigned my position and started on another path- the restaurant industry. I knew that in order to be successful, I had to start from the ground up. This meant broiling hamburgers at Pillsburys Burger King division. After nine months of a grueling restaurant experience, I was assigned to lead a low performing region of 450 Burger King restaurants. Within three years, we became the best-performing region in the U.S.
I could have been content with my executive role with one of Americas biggest corporations. Instead, after consulting with my wife, we decided to take one of the biggest risks of our marriage: picking up our young family, relocating yet again and accepting the call to become CEO and President of Godfathers Pizza, a company teetering on the edge of bankruptcy.
In 14 months, we turned the company around and returned it to profitability, and I ultimately led my management team to a buyout of Godfathers Pizza. The company never went bankrupt, and today, there are still hundreds of locations across the U.S.
My success at turning around Godfathers got the attention of fellow restaurateurs around the nation who invited me to join the Board of Directors of the National Restaurant Association and later elected me its chairman. In 1996, they retained me as the full-time President and the CEO of the National Restaurant Association, working on behalf of thousands of small businesses and entrepreneurs.
In 1994, as chairman of the National Restaurant Association, I had the opportunity to speak with President Clinton during a nationally televised town hall meeting. Here, I challenged the President regarding the impact on businesses if his health care overhaul proposal were passed.
President Clinton attempted to assure me and the millions of viewers watching at home that his legislation would not harm American business owners and their employees.
I was skeptical. Quite honestly Mr. President, your calculations are incorrect, I said. In the competitive marketplace, it simply doesnt work that way.
Through these and other appearances on behalf of the National Restaurant Association, I began working with business leaders across all sectors of the American economy. This led to my acceptance of a position on the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, and I was subsequently elected their chairman.
Today, I host a radio talk show, The Herman Cain Show, on Atlantas WSB 750 AM/ 95.5 FM. I serve as a regular contributor on several broadcast networks and as a keynote speaker at conferences and events around the nation.
Despite the many professional commitments of my life, I continued to enjoy most the time spent with family and friends. As my children got married and had their own children, I knew that I had an extraordinary obligation to do what I could to make this a safe and prosperous nation for them. The paramount joys in my life are my wife, Gloria, our children and our grandchildren.
I am grateful for the many professional successes I have enjoyed. I am grateful for the steadfast loyalty and unwavering love of my family and friends. And I am grateful for this country that is so exceptional that I was afforded the opportunity to achieve my American Dreams.

The media is doing their best to ignore him. They fear him.

>The media is doing their best to ignore him. They fear him.
Nah. They will prop up him as long as it’s not Palin.
You made me lose a bet. I had bet that the first anti-Cain troll wouldn’t show up until after 20 post.
Palin/Cain 2012
Real Americans for Real Americans
Please note that Mr. Cain not once referenced his color. He spoke of American Values and hard work. I could vote for any of the following candidates and would campaign for them:
Cain
Palin
Bachman
West (He would also be a hell of a Secretary of Defense)
Christy
And then there is Romney. :( If he is the nominee I will hold my nose, pull the lever for him, go home and take bath and drink. I hope the smell would wash off.
Reading what Cain knows about foreign affairs, he would ask Cheney to pick his VP and staff. Cheney would then pick himself for VP and all his Iran warcons for the staff. Been there, done that.
A lot more than just the media fear him. The attacks on him from within conservative circles show they think he's crossed the threashold into being a true contender.
and just what did the ‘one’ know about foreign affairs? how to bow to every second rate potentate and dictator out there?
Not only that, we are able to call him a dark horse, without fear of being called racist. This man is a red, white, and blue American!
Pre-SC-Debate, perhaps, but after the debate, I disagree. Romney generated some interest because of his business background as did Trump, before people discovered they were douchebags. Cain's initial appeal is the same and the rest of him completes the package.
Cain wants to educate Americans about the Fairtax and do away with the income tax...I think he has my vote!
I’m not even sorry to disappoint you.
