President Ignores War Powers Act. Congress does nothing
Coach is Right ^ | May 28th, 2011 | Jim Emerson, staff writer

In another blatant act of chutzpah President Obama declared that his direction of military action against Libya is so limited it does not have to comply with the War Powers Act. The fact that the operation was lead by the United States in establishing a UN approved No-Fly- Zone, air and missile strikes disappeared down George Orwell’s famous Memory Hole. The passing of the mission to NATO was nothing more than window dressing.

May 20th marked the 60th day of military action against Libya and the Administration can only declare the usual rules of war don’t apply to them. Sad to say the Democrats created the war powers act and it looks like the Democratic Administration’s contempt for the rule of law will render it useless. Their main argument: the mission is now NATO lead so the act no longer applies doesn’t hold water.

War Powers Act

The War Powers Resolution of 1973 was intended to check the power of the President to commit the military of the United States to armed conflict without the consent of Congress. The main exception in the resolution is a direct attack on the United States.

If the President commits the military in armed conflict he must notify Congress within 48 hours and cannot commit the military for more than 60 days without consent from Congress or a declaration of war. Without approval of Congress the President must withdraw forces within 30 days. To date there has been no indication of compliance from the Obama Administration with regards to Libya.

During a joint press conference with Obama Prime minister Cameron told the reporters:

"In terms of the U.S. role, I would make this point, which I'm not sure is widely understood in Britain or in Europe — is already a huge number of the sorties and the support and the air assets that are actually bringing the pressure to bear are U.S. assets. There was this enormous effort at the beginning, as the president said, but also a sustained amount of assets that have been used."

"And as the president said, there are also the unique assets and capabilities that the U.S. has that others don't have that are so vital. And as he said, we all have to ask what is it that we can all do to make sure the pressure is really brought to bear. That is what the British are doing, the French are doing, the Americans are doing. And I know we'll discuss this in the margins of the G8."

George Washington did not want to be a king but a president.
Obama thinks he is a king.

I think Obama has female menopausal emotions, it appears to be a monthly thing that he has to spit in the face of America.

Blaming 0bama is like blaming a rattlesnake for being venomous. He is just doing what is to be expected.

We voted out over 60 Democrats and sent over 80 new Congress Critters to Washington a scant 7 months ago. We asked for and expected change. The first thing our new congress did was elect the same tired old “leaders”. the same bunch that talk a good fight, but really are just TALK.
Now that same “leadership” is just too damn timid to even mention the War Powers Act. So our beloved leader just does as he wants.
So much for "elections having consequences".

Congress should pack their bags and go home.
They are as useless as the fiftieth teat on a bull.

GO HOME CONGRESS.

Then, there, they should be indicted for misprision
of felony and treason. Every one of them.

Not a King

Congress doesn't want to get wrapped up in an impeachment they don't think they can win because we know the Demorats will vote with the traitor rather than with America. They think they will get him in 2012 but Barry is betting that it will be too late.

Meanwhile Barry is using the US Military to set up Al Qaeda in Libya.

Barry gives $Billions to set up the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.

Both of these countries will immediately be sworn enemies of Israel, joining Iran and Syria to finally destroy the Islamic's biggest wet dream: Kill all the Jews.

Then Barry and the Muslim fanatics can finish off Europe and then come get the USA.

What's so really neat about this plan is that Americans don't even suspect Barry is a radical Muslim whose sole purpose is to set up the destruction of America.

IF you don't believe that, ask yourself a question: IF Barry Obama really is a radical Muslim, what would he do differently than he is doing now?

Stopping the US from drilling for oil

Opening the borders by refusing to enforce US law.

He is bankrupting the US

He is for everything that will hurt the country and for nothing that helps the country.

Non existent consequences of any law only serves to breed more offenders. My college history professor (early 70s) used to ask; at what point will it take for you (the people) to take up arms to stop government tyranny? Obviously his question was meant to stimulate thought on the reality of sacrifice on a personal level and he was not referring to the US Revolution against England. From a Constitutional Law perspective, this government is worse than the English ruler we fought to gain our freedom in order to adopt that Constitution. Not to advocate a revolution but the professor's question seems to beg to be asked once again.

“...IF Barry Obama really is a radical Muslim...”

.
He is not a radical Muslim — he is a devout Muslim.

There are some among us who think that there is a difference between the two.

My amazement is how this President is never held accountable for anything.

The press-corps are his personal propagandists. Few if any Republicans are objecting to his proclamations and the press are doing their best to ignore them and the overt demagoguery of anyone who opposes the one or his policies

The weakest link in this regime is the press. Its only a matter of time before they are completely under Government control.

first the ignored Article 2 section 1, and nothing was done.

then they ignored the Constitutionality of 0bamacare, and nothing was done.

then they ignored the black panther voter intimidation case, and nothing was done.

then they ignored the slipping of missile codes to the russians, and nothing was done.

then they ignored the war powers act, and nothing was done.

i could prolly go on, but i don’t have an auto-pen...

Yes, they did.

Also, Cantor announced that the House would be taking up a resolution introduced by Kucinich against the White House on the War Powers act.
