“I agree about US airlines, and does your position make flying necessary all the time?”

No, I have not flown in over two years now.
I was flying often from 1999 to 2009, but it was for pleasure, and mostly to Europe. KLM had a direct flight from Memphis to Amsterdam. Those were really nice flights.
In the 70s I had my own plane.
I am now retired and living on a beach.
As for your post on Charleston, I often vacationed in
that area, Pawley’s Island.
I recall passing the Boeing site a number of times while
traveling the coastal highway.
I can not imagine earthquakes being much of a concern there.
I saw it on weather channel, as they were talking about earthquakes and hurricanes of future.
What beach? I wanted to live on the beach in my old age, and spend time with seagulls, cranes, any all the birds....I have lived in the mountains so long, and our beaches in NC and SC have so much junk washing up now. Pawleys Island area is great, as it isn’t so overcrowded.
I stopped in Memphis, TN once, on my way to AZ, and I remember ordering an omelet, and they put chili on it....it was good.
