When it comes to Palin, ignore the ‘experts’ (" like a guerrilla insurgent fighting the Redcoats")
Daily Caller ^ | Friday May 27, 2011 | Matthew Lewis

The insiders are largely agreed: Sarah Palin isn’t really running for president. She is more interested in making money and getting publicity. So her movie, bus tour, and poll numbers mean nothing. Zero. Nada.

The best example of this is probably found in Byron York’s column today:

“The bottom line is Sarah Palin is not going to run for president,” says a Republican adviser close to front-runner Mitt Romney. “She’s making money, she’s moved on, she’s kind of an entertainer rather than a politician. She still has some sway with the grass roots, but she is not going to run.”

“I don’t think she’s going to run,” says a Republican close to Tim Pawlenty. “She has faded a lot in the last few months. I look at what she’s doing now and say that she’s found a way to get back in the story.”

But they’re not alone. A lot of political insiders and campaign experts I talk to are convinced Palin is just in this for the attention — that she won’t run because running and losing would destroy her “brand.” They point to the fact that her team isn’t engaged in the organizational logistics a traditional presidential campaign must have in place to win in, say, Iowa, as evidence she isn’t running.

But Palin is anything but a conventional politician. The fact that she’s not building a traditional campaign organization implies nothing. Should she run, Palin will be unconventional — like a guerrilla insurgent fighting against the Redcoats. The experts can point to the number of soldiers against her, the training and weapons they have at their disposal, their nice uniforms, etc. — but the problem is they all march in a line. They are fighting an old-style fight. Palin believes the world has changed

I’ve heard this soooooo many times from the Mittbots on FR it’s ridiculous. But I’d like to hear it at least one more time from a fellow FReeper just so I can have a great weekend.

I hope she does run but just look at the consternation among the media "experts" that Sarah causes by riding a bike and a bus.

They are scared to death of her.

Makes me wonder if they are trying to convince themselves or big donors who are sitting on campaign bucks...

Yo Paw-Paw. Schedule an event in the same time as she does and see whose gets sold out and whose doesn't.

I'll go with "b".

They have to know that they are impotent to stop her from running, if she wishes, in the manner she wishes. The best they can do is to try to make some lemonade from those lemons by pushing the idea that she's not running, so "settle for me (or my guy)" instead while pretending that her unofficial campaign isn't a prelude to an official one.

Since when do we listen to the insiders? That ship sailed during the midterm. Cain Bachmann and Palin are constantly derided as low level garbage compared to the wise and stately Newt and Myth. Isn’t it interesting that as the Tea Party favorites begin their campaigns, the polls for the elitist approved candidates soften. I think the insiders are scared to death just like the Regime is. This is going to be great.

I don't believe she is the best we have to offer, but without question I love her guts, I love her going back at the MSM and I would without question and will full support, support her if she is the Republican nominee.

With that said, I also don't believe she is running (for the same reasons listed above). My question to Palin supporters, if she doesn't run.....will you feel she let you down? Let the Country down? Will you hold it against her going forward (the same way you seem to be aggressively against those who don't feel she is ready within our Party now).

“Insiders” say Palin doesn’t have enough experience—but Christie and Ryan do.

“Insiders” say it is way to late for Palin to dig in on traditional fundraising and such, so she a) can’t be running or b) wouldn’t succeed if she jumped in at this late time. However, they seem to have infinite patience for Christie or Ryan or Perry to decide to join the race.

“Insiders’” hypocrisies expose them for who they are.

Hmmm, Sarah the Entertainer. RINO Romney is resurrecting the line demrats used to describe Limbaugh. That is, until they decided he was titular head of GOP.

The fact that the MSM dislikes her so much that I believe they are afraid that she’ll run and that is what I like about Sarah.

Byron York’s commentary becomes less relevant by the day. Once NRO, always NRO.

How much funding typically comes from a few large donors vs many small ones? Is it common for there to be a few large ‘Angel donors’ to get a campaign started?

Let me give you a couple of examples of this type of thinking:

Example #1:

She gets on Facebook on day one and says “I need $5 million dollars in the bank tomorrow to do a radio buy blitz in Iowa for my campaign, please click HERE to donate $10 to this urgent need”

Which one of these political experts believes she wouldn't have $5 million in less than 12 hours?

Example #2:

She gets on Twitter and says “Go to www.Sarah2012.com and sign up to work your precinct”

Which one of these political experts believes she couldn't mobilize 100,000 volunteers in one tweet?

Idaho is part of the United States? I thought it was Ohio.
Sorry, it just reminded me of an old joke and I couldn’t resist.

I once lived and worked in Idoho for three months (summer job while in college)and later it was part of my terriotry for another job. It is a beautiful state with great people.
