We create our own punishments, we don’t need divine ones. When half the voting public pulls the lever to put this guy into office, it is on us for letting the nation get so dependent on entitlements and politicians who promise them cookies.
Cause & Effect.

You dispute my conclusion, and then bolster it in the same statement. There is a reason that “half the voting public [to] put this guy into office,” and I stand by the article’s assertions.

We might create our own punishment in our own eyes, but that doesn't mean the punishment isn't devine. How do you know that God hasn't harden the heart of individuals, or this nation to cause most Americans to vote for Obama. Maybe God is hardening the hearts of this generation because of the sins of the generation before it, and the sins of the generation before that, and this cycle continues on for several cycles. Can the cycle be broken, yes, only if the present generation recognizes it sins and repents of it, it doesn't have to totally recognize all it's sins, it just need to recognize it has missed the mark, it has to recognize it is not on the right track, and ask God for forgiveness, and to help it back onto the right track and for wisdom in doing it. You don't hear about sin much any more in the Church other then it's association with works, so going back to the title of this thread, yes it could be the churches fault.
