A new report by the federal government shows that half of the 12 million illegal immigrants currently residing in the United States have entered the country legally but have overstayed their visas. This report comes shortly after Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and the Obama administration have touted increased security along the Mexican-American border - primarily to hawk their amnesty agenda.
But border security is not the only factor in dealing with the millions of immigrants currently scamming the U.S. economy; an efficient and effective tracking system is imperative to national security and economic resilience, two factors that are more important now than ever before. In a day of age when terrorism is rampant and the "fight for Jihad" is spreading, a secure border is one of the most important counter agents, one that we can control.
Did we forget the fact that the Middle Eastern terrorists that killed thousands of Americans on 9/11 were illegal immigrants who had overstayed their visas? Judicial Watch reported:
... nearly half of the nations estimated 12 million illegal immigrants actually entered the U.S. legally but overstayed their visa, according to a new federal report. Thats because the agency responsible for keeping the nation safethe Department of Homeland Securitycant keep track of immigrants who remain in the U.S. after their visas expire.
This clearly creates a huge national security issue because terrorists can plot more attacks from within. In fact, dozens of foreigners convicted of terrorism since the 2001 attacks had overstayed their visas, according to the report, which was published by the investigative arm of Congress known as the Government Accountability Office (GAO).
The GAO launched its probe after learning from an independent study that 4 to 5.5 million immigrants had entered the country legally and overstayed their authorized periods of admission. In the course of the probe, GAO investigators interviewed a number of high-ranking Homeland Security officials, visited various field offices and reviewed a mountain of documents.
They found that the Department of Homeland Securitys program to identify visa violators by comparing entry and exit data is inefficient and can only process around half of the potential overstays it detects. Currently, the system has a backlog of about 1.6 suspected foreigners who remained in the U.S. past their visa period, the probe found. Some could very well be Islamic extremists.
Homeland Security, led by the "fearless" Napolitano, has yet to implement a viable plan to ensure the safety of U.S. citizens, in terms of both physical and economic harm. And unless our political leaders get serious about national security and the health of the economy, the U.S. will surely fall behind in the international arena.
The 12 million number alone is laughable. They’ve been using that number for better than a decade.
When, are they going to put a bounty on those criminals?
Response: Of course!
Comment: The number is probably understated by one-half. Further, they will be registered to vote and will help re-elect "The Divine One." WE ARE DEAD MEN WALKING!
After amnesty, each of these 12 million (prolly 20mln) will be able to sponser their parents and sibblings via chain migration. Amnesty = suicide.
Well, Given that visas are in fact prefentially given to folks who are most likely to overstay, I think this must be a very dissapointing result for our State Department.

And there will be libertarian types who oppose any tracking of course.
I beg everyones pardon three times
why do i bother obeying the laws again?
oh yea... i’m a white, Christian, heterosexual male that doesn’t rely on the fedgov to get by
next time i’m pulled over, i’ll try saying ‘no hablo’ and relate how i’m in the US illegally. since they cannot hold illegals and would have nowhere to send a ticket... they’d have to let me go (like they do with the illegals)
...free medical,free schools,free food,no taxes,camp out with 32 other homies in a slum....why leave?
Exactly. Should we assume that all of the other 18 million got here by other than a visa overstay?
They should all come to Tulsa. The only way the Tulsa cops could catch them would be if the crimigrants hung out at the donut shops.
I’ve been hearing 12 million since Clinton was President. We are easily past 20 million and I wouldn’t be surprised at 30 million
Let’s see: half of 35 million is - 6 million? Maybe they weren’t counting all 57 states?
