Who cares “why” we killed him.
I don’t think there is a person on the planet Obama wouldn’t happily order killed if it would profit him one way or another, especially politically. He is the epitome of the Culture of Death.
I name him Apollyon.

We’ll know for sure if photos of a dead OBL are “wiki-leaked” a few weeks before the election.

Yep, we killed Osama...about 6 years ago.
Obama is taking a victory lap. But, if things had gone badly, there would have been finger pointing from the WH instead. So for bama it was a win, win situation. He would never be to blame. Just like he’s not to blame for the bad economy. They are still blaming Bush. And my guess is they will continue to do so. Either that our the big bad CEO’s of the big bad companies that employee millions of people.
Who knows? Maybe the USA and PAK have known where OBL has been hiding for years. For whatever reason, maybe OBL was more valuable alive to the Saudis, PAK or even the USA, as long as he was isolated and monitored.
Obama needs a PR boost, so he kills OBL.
I’m not saying this is true, but its one of many possible scenarios.
What would be the first clue?

The whole Bin Laden “killing” was a carefully staged exercise to get the birth certificate off of the headlines, and to head off the fact that just that morning, we had killed the grandchildren of Gaddafi in an attack on his sons house. The whole things stinks of a “Wag the Dog” moment.
Sure is starting to look that way. Glad he’s dead though.
We may be seeing the emergence of The Obama Doctrine:
“Shoot terrorists until poll numbers improve”
bolster his image? maybe.
but the timing was coordinated... with the release of the ‘birth certificate’. just as people understood that, phoney or not, he was not a natural born citizen... the osama news flushed it from the news cycle

Good God! Some of the “conservative” banter on this site since OBL’s death has been quite appalling, but this post takes it to a new low.
Who cares WHY we killed bin Laden? The fact is that he is dead, and thank God for it! I don’t care who gets credit for it. The monster who slaughtered thousands of my fellow citizens in an act of war on my country was killed by American bullets, and I could not be happier about that. And as sitting President, yes, Obama does get some credit. Big deal. Grow up. Doesn’t make me want to kick him out of the White House next year any bit less.
There are far too many folks on FR who seriously need to cut it with all the left-wing “the President is worse than the terrorists!” crap. Let that kind of bile flow from Michael Moore’s mouth, not our site. Seriously. Set a good example for your kids and show them that patriotism—and conservatism—doesn’t entail pouting your way through the destruction of your country’s worst enemy. (And as I said, spare me any of that “well actually Obama is doing more damage than al Qaeda” garbage. Code Pink ran with that junk during the Bush years and I called them traitors for it. The rule still applies.)
In all honesty, if somebody had told me a couple years ago that news of Osama bin Laden getting shot to death in the face by a US Navy SEAL would bring more anxiety to Free Republic than sheer joy, I wouldn’t have believed it for a second. It’s like some people on this site need to be spoken to like a five year old: Americans killed bin Laden. That’s what we call “a good thing.” Be happy about it! There you go!
Anybody whose first reaction after the USA killed OBL was “oh shoot, I bet this will help Obama’s ratings” instead of “hell yeah, we finally got him!!!” is not a patriot in my book, and sure as heck is not a fellow conservative. At least not the kind I support.
