To: Smogger
For me, its not so much about stealing movies and songs. If they get the ability to do this, how far can they be before they sieze FR and other blogs for inciting trouble? Either the web is free or it's not. If they can regulate this they can regulate politics. FR has been characterized as a "far right" site preaching "hate". If we are put in with the KKK or Nazi's, how long before we are siezed along with the Tea Party and Sarah Palin brought up on treason charges?

As far as I'm concerned, in a free country, it's the movie and music industry's problem to protect content. This just represents the first steps towards a Chinese model of "freedom".

FR has been routinely accused of and sued for supposed copyright violations. If this law had been in effect. Well. You probably wouldn’t be reading this now.
