Last night on FOX, they were talking about the wealth of intelligence obtained from the raid. ( And BTW, I wish they'd stop talking about it) One person said that they were even examining the veneer of the wood in the cabinet behind OBL in one of the captured pics, to determine where the piece had been made. ( Does Pakistan have a Craig's List?) But I realized that I've seen nothing written about the shape and design of the compound, and I'm wondering if other Freepers had any thoughts or insights?
I think what you are getting at, was the place designed as a fortress to protect the occupants, or a prison to keep them in? Now that I think of it, it does more closely resemble a fairly nice prison.
There is a serious disconnect between the quality of the intel claimed to have been captured that describes Osama as continuing to be the brains of the Al Qaeda operation and the videos than depict a doddering old fool, confused and irrelevant.
I heard aliens built it
It was a Pock-ee-ston jail with an open space for a
Pock-ee-ston helicopter to land and take him away if it was
ever discovered.
And now you know the rest of the story.
And he had 2 or 3 wives living there, and the place was a pigsty. I still can’t get over how filthy it was. Now the clutter strewn about was probably from the Seals searching the place, but the walls and floors were scuzzy...and nice furnishings or art work non existent.
A high degree of emphasis was placed on secrecy, rather than defense. Probably with the thought that if OBL’s location were ever discovered that no amount of money could possibly defend OBL from the full wrath of the US military.
It could also be that after several years of safe living, that a degree of complacency set in with OBL’s protection. There may well have been something in the yard, but after years of disuse, it was moved elsewhere.
I’ve observed a misspelled word in your title
that made me chuckle.
Its a third world dump.
