obviously not a professor at a worthwhile school if they don't even bother to check the credentials of their teaching staff. No university looks at the college transcripts of tenure track hires. They'll check to make sure your Ph.D. is legit, they might check your transcripts from your doctoral program, and they'll check to make sure your publication record is what you say it is. But college transctips? Not relevant.
The same is true of most professionals with 10-20 years of experience. No one cares about their grades in college.

The fact is, most government civil service jobs with requirements of a college degree also require college transcripts and there are no exceptions for people who claim to have gotten them over 20 years ago!
