I’m floored...I can’t imagine that the Navy couldn’t provide a list of commands where he served...there have got to be some past shipmates out there that remember serving with him...
That would be a start...
I can relate to him in a way, I know I would have a hard time carrying on without my wife, I finished up as an E-8 as well, and I know its hard to keep things up when your retired and all that...you just got to have “things” to do...If you don’t it really piles up on you...
I’m still working, but I watch my Dad who is retired, but he’s having a ball doing things that make him happy, and keep him occupied...
I hope someone comes up and visits the Senior Chief soon...
I am now living in Gulfport, MS. This is a great option for Vets... and as Chairman of MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) Committee for the Resident Advisory Council, I can tell you there is lots of things to keep busy! Check out the current residents topics at the top right. Plus, there is a VA Hospital in Biloxi, and Keesler AFB. I have a dentist appt Wednesday here in the Wellness Center...

Sounds like my dad. He said about a year after he retired "It's a good thing I'm retired, I don't have time for a job." He kept busy carving birds and making things for the church.
