A slightly unconventional Book Review: Without Firing a Shot

First of all Ron Walker is more than an acquaintance, he is my neighbor. He went to New Orleans after hurricane Katrina, as a construction worker, to help rebuild. That part is not in the book and perhaps that will be a different chapter if he decides to discuss it in a new book. I hope he does.

He is what you would call an average guy demographically. Yet, he is a hero like "Joe the Plumber", a single voice that states the obvious. That is the strength of the book. Without Firing a Shot is simplistically stark: America is being strangled by political correctness. We are being ravaged by false science, politically correct group think and priviledged groups that destroy anyone who says what is really on their mind. Remember Juan Williams?

Walker says things we all frequently find ourselves thinking but rarely hear from others, because to say it out loud we would be branded as racists or haters or insensitive, just for having an opinion contraty to the PC norm. To be sure the book has no offensive language or content, unless you are an entrenched PC liberal. I am sure there are millions that share the same thoughts contained in the book and would spend an evening or two agreeing out loud with the book's content.

At the same time it is a fair bet that this book which should be in the mainstream, is considered "counterculture" to the academia and media that worship everything opposed to what the "flyover states" and heartland of this country believe. It would be an excellent gift for a mush headed liberal but we all know that probably won't work. Therefore, the next best thing, is to get a copy of Without Firing a Shot read it then pass it on to a friend. Knowledge is power, that is true. Knowledge that others believe in the same values as you can create the momentum for change we desperately need in this country.

The book is easy to read a chapter at a time. You can read a little, put it down then pick right back up where you left off. Here are some sites with reviews and information on availability:
