Prof. Stremmenos is a scientist in Greece and former ambassador to Italy. He discusses the Rossi and Focardi energy catalyzer in an interview Professor Christos Stremmenos is the man who brought cold fusion to Greece, and worked with the Greek government to set up the factory that will manufacture the "Energy Catalyzer" reactors which Andrea Rossi and Sergio Focardi invented and tested, and which will produce a 1-megawatt power plant. Professor Stremmenos is Vice-President of Defkalion.

Some funny comments at the site. Looks like skepticism is high concerning this wonder machine.
OK, I’ve read enough to convince me this is real. Question: how do *we* cash in?
If the one megawatt generator really starts up and runs in Oct 2011, I’m going to short the heck out of oil (actually beg, borrow, and steal whatever I can to buy put options). Any other ideas?

He’s secretive about the guts, but quite a few solid scientists have examined it in operation and have concluded it works.
He puts Ni in and gets Cu out.
He’s not asking for money for investment. He’s funded.
He’s got the Greek government convinced. If this is a fraud, the gig will be up in Oct 2011 (when the one megawatt generator is suposed to go on line), and he’ll go to jail.
As for US scientists being skeptical? US science is in a sorry state. After all, most US “scientists” bought the whole AGW hoax hook, line, and sinker.
As for skepticism from the Web? Worthless.
“Any other ideas?”
Better check with Al Gore first.
Hot fusion is where the grant money is. With scientists and everything else, follow the money.
Yup. Ditto AGW/climate change...
Or as my Mom would have put it, “Hook, lyin’ and sinker”
We don’t get to cash in.
Rossi is a manufacturer and seems obsessed with control of his product. Venture capitolists need not apply.
He may manufacture and distribute this as primarily a one man show. Perhaps setting up production in a lot of regions where power was hard to get and very expensive...until now.
Yeah and how’s that hot fusion program workin’ out? Zero watts produced so far with tens of billions invested. Nickel powder, hydrogen, catalyst, resulting in huge power output far beyond what conventional physics can explain. Hmm . . . Seem to recall a major university confirming the work done by Randell Mills of Blacklight Power involving the same technology years before Rossi announced his breakthrough. No doubt more entrepreneurs will be coming out off the woodwork.
Electricity is generated from Coal, gas, nuclear, hydro. Petroleum is used for transportation and chemicals. I wouldn’t short petroleum just yet.
‘hows that hot fusion program workin out? Zero watts produced so far with tens of billions invested. ‘
I assume by ‘zero watts produced’ you mean “Not yet outputting more than is input.” The Joint European Torus produced 16 megawatts, 65% of power-input, in 1997.
Cold Fusion Ping List
“Hot fusion is where the grant money is...”
an ideal situation...infinitely funded ..with no prospect of conclusion
Ya know, it seems one practical applicatiion could perhaps be demonstrated to prove Rossi’s device at it’s present level of development. Prove it in a way that ordinary people and the local news could easily understand. Engineer the device to fit into a shoebox size container that in turn fits into a home water heater engineered to accomodate the device. Not very sexy as headlines go but one should be able to easily measure the trickle current maintaining the reaction and see that it is not sufficient to heat, say, sixty gallons of water.
While I assume that the device could be set to maintain the temperature of hot water in the water heater vessel, I do not know if it can be controlled to provide an on-demand surge of heat as would be necessary to heat the cold water being introduced into the water heater as the hot water is used, like in taking showers, running the dishwasher, etc.
Your statement reflects what has been said about cold fusion since the 80’s but in reverse. They will believe cold fusion is real when the water heaters are available.
