Considering his support for TARP. Cain is finished, just no one has informed him yet.

Speak for yourself about his being finished due to his support for TARP. I support him. I know he supported the original concept of TARP: rather than underwriting worthless mortgage securities, the idea was to buy bank equity to prop them up financially. Later the program morphed into buying GMAC, AIG and a few other entities none of whom were mentioned during the law enacting practice.

I believe he did not support any of the 2 stimulus packages and had he done that, that would be a death blow to my support. The guy is on the right side of probably 95% of the issues even counting TARP as not correct. He is also in favor of the fair tax, a big one in my book.

Folks, we need to get over ourselves with TARP. It was a controversial issue with many conservative economist thinking it might be needed. Many conservatives with far greater conservative credentials than the average FREEP poster I might add. I’m not supporting it, I’m just putting it in perspective.

Besides, it has been paid back and with a big profit by almost every entity except Fannie and Freddie and GMAC.

Obama Care is litmus test. Stimulus is a litmus test. TARP as a litmus is just plain ridiculous. You would wipe out half the remaining folks from Reagan’s cabinet with that mindset.

Pro-TARP, pro-Romney. I’m very disappointed to scratch him off my list of possibilities.
