I think Steyn made a fair assessment of the law tracing it back to English law.
Regardless of that his wider point is that the BC has become a red herring.
In fact, I believe someone like obama, whose loyalties often appear to lie elsewhere than with the US, is exactly the danger they were trying to avoid.
They gave the President a lot of power, including that of Commander in Chief, and did their best to check and balance that power, starting with his or her innate national loyalty.
IF we had 'listened' to them and their wisdom, we would have avoided the obama disaster altogether and obama would still be the most liberal and unproductive senator instead of our worst President.

Steyn has a woeful lack of knowledge on natural born citizenship and Obama loving this? Only if the courts, the media, and the rest of his enablers quit covering for him, and let his past leak out into the public, then Obama would be hating it.
