Osama bin Laden is dead. After nine and a half exhaustive years of searching, the terrorist mastermind was killed by US Navy Seals in Pakistan. After claiming his body, the US took, amongst other things, several pictures of the al Qaeda leader. Afterwords, the US gave bin Laden a "proper Muslim burial" at sea, making any future examination of the body impossible. The question now is: should those pictures, either all or some, be released?
President Obama said no. About his reasons, he stated:
"The risks of release outweigh the benefits. Conspiracy theorists around the world will just claim the photos are doctored anyway, and there is a real risk that releasing the photos will only serve to inflame public opinion in the Middle East. Imagine how the American people would react if Al Qaida killed one of our troops or military leaders, and put photos of the body on the internet. Osama bin Laden is not a trophy - he is dead and let's now focus on continuing the fight until Al Qaida has been eliminated."
Yet the debate is not over. Advocates of releasing the pictures believe that it will show the world that bin Laden is indeed dead, and will help squelch those who say he somehow survived
But the question is: what do you think? Should the United States government release the photos? Can the American public "take it?" Will such a release fan the flames of hatred for the United States in the Middle East?

I believe Obama is wrong on everything.
He doesnt want to release the pic because the pic does not exist.
Barry only publishes photos damaging to the US Military, so tell him to take a hike. After watching Americans jump out of the twin towers, this couldn’t be worse.
Heck yeah, publish the photos!
This whole event was designed for maximum Obama PR.
First of all, the announcement should not have been made by a President in the middle of the night. It should have been made by a mid-level Pentagon spokesman. UBL’s death 10 years on was not fitting for a President to do at 11:30 pm.
Obama the narcissist and politician wanted the maximum PR, but in fact, it diminishes him and raises up Al Qaeda and UBL.
A clear chronology of course should have been prepared in advance, with IR images of copters landing or selected helmet camera views (where appropriate). 15-20 journalists should have been flown in to view UBL’s body. Death photos (perhaps after washing off the blood) should have been shown. Announcement that body was disposed of in respectful manner should have been all that was said.
No need to worry about “inflaming” radicals or worrying about Jihadi’s religious sensibilities. Shows spinelessness.
The President could then comment the next day.
Obama’s way is undignified.
Death?
Where? - - - - All we've got is the word of pathologigal liars.
“O” still wants it both ways. Get Osama AND stay buddies with his Muslim friends.
Same as always with this guy.
WWBD? (what would Bush do)
Fly to the USS Carl Vinson and personally kick the body into the sea on live TV.
Why does Osama Bin Laden have to be treated with kid gloves in death. Thru the years many lesser bad guys have had their dead mugs displayed on the front pages. I will list a few.
Jesse James
Billy the Kid
John Dillinger
Clyde Barrow
Baby Face Nelson
Albert Anastasia
Carmine Galante (cigar in mouth)
Paul Costallano
Angelo Bruno
Feel free to add to the list.
Like Rush, I believe the question is possibly an intentional diversion, on the part of Obama who created the need for the question; so everyone can give their attention and interest away from the dire domestic economic and federal budget issues, while he and the RINOS work out a compromise.
Barry’s plan to bring CHAOS here and around the world continues on schedule.
This could be 0bama's way of getting back at the ungrateful American public for not buying his latest "birth certificate" without question. Not that 0 and the rest of the leftist elite doesn't treat Americans with contempt anyway on general principles. We don't have deserve information. We don't have "standing."
Another thing that is strange about that photo is why is the room so small? Major military operation to take out THE worlds most notorious terrorist being run out of a closet?
Hobbes!
Where’s Calvin?
