Once again I'll ask you to look at any election map from the past 50 years and keep in mind the direction that the northeast has taken politically and socially. Once you've done that and, if you're being intellectually honest, you can only conclude that, without the South, the northeast would be a communist dictatorship today.
When I’m talking about a communist Dixie had the rebs won the war, I’m not making a North versus South point, but a point about all of us versus the rest of the world. A divided USA would have not been able to resist the encroachments of Europe and European ideas. Even during the war, the rebs would have been elated had some Old World power intervened on the continent to further their power goals.
