Can we assume that was after it was fired upon?
Fox is reporting that the fire at the compound is the helicopter burning after being intentionally destroyed by the team following a hard landing
sound like they were treating the operation like they were inside a hostile territory, even though Pakistan was suppose to be our ally. If it was friendly territory, there wouldn’t be a need to get out quickly

Sounds a little like the Special Forces raid on the Son Tay POW camp in Vietnam (1972). The assault section more or less sacrificed a chopper by hard-landing it inside the compound. Gets you on the ground with minimal warning and sows confusion among the defenders. 2nd chopper takes everyone out.
