I think it’s another distraction that folks are getting tunnel-vision on. I wouldn’t be surprised to find the White-House intentionally & knowingly released the suspect, layered document to provide a wild-goose to be chased.
Whether it’s real or fake, it clearly shows his father was Kenyan and Obama has admitted such.
Does that apparent “dual-citizenship-at-birth” invalidate Obama as a *natural-born* citizen? If so, how does one get that decided/verified by the Supreme Court? Those are the questions that I think should be pursued and persistently asked. Everytime someone sits for an interview, that line of questioning should be doggedly pursued.
The typical responses are so easily defeated that it boggles the mind why it’s not being hammered:
- The “Law of Nations” defines the term unequivocably in book-1, Ch 19, Section 212, “Citizens and Natives” (http://www.constitution.org/vattel/vattel_01.htm).
- Neither Chester Arthur nor Spiro Agnew set any “precedent” simply because prior errors do not invalidate the Constitution.
- The 14th amendment does not define *natural-born*; it just defines “citizens”. For example, Schwarzenegger is a “citizen”.
It just frustrates me that no-one is hammering this issue in the media. It’s obvious.
Whether the released document is fake or not strikes me as the wrong path to pursue. We don’t know what we “don’t know”. The released doc could contain the exact same info as the original. The original may not exist. etc.

Actually, I doubt they did anything more than scan it on a scanner and process the output through the PDF creation software that is often installed along with the scanner driver. My guess is they thought that would settle it. But the fact that the resulting artifacts are keeping the birthers all wee-wee'd up can't be bad from their perspective. They've succeeded in shoving the issue back onto the back burner without shutting it down entirely. And as long as it stays simmering away on the back burner, it net benefits them by making the Right look like a bunch of kooks.

A rather strong informal precedent has already been set: the sheeple elected him, the Congress certified the electoral vote, and John Roberts swore him in twice. All in full knowledge of both his father's nationality and the resulting availability of British or Kenyan citizenship to little Barry. Obama had stipulated to all of that, not least by writing a book about it (or having his natural born terrorist fully eligible neighbor ghost write it for him).
If the Supreme Court ever takes the natural born question head on, at this point I would expect them to rule it means citizen by birth. So, McCain, Arthur, Agnew, and Obama all qualify, but Kissinger, Schwarzenegger, and Granholm do not. As for the dual-citizenship issue, I think they'd say it only matters if the person took the opportunity up as an adult. Otherwise, foreign countries could manipulate our candidate pool simply by making laws extending citizenship to whichever US candidate they want disqualified.
