Sir, I'm a weather freak and do know it's power. I also know anything with that sort of power will eventually lure the PTBs to find a way to harness it. (more likely to weaponize it)
We have no idea how far along they have come with perfecting their methods but, to say it's all bogus would be to our detriment.
And as metmom has noted, the idea that we could muster the energy or the skill to manipulate weather is absurd.
